THE LADY FROM SHANGHAI AT WEXNER CENTER THIS WEEK

Ah summer... where outdoors is always the key to the fun! This Thursday, July 17th, The Lady from Shanghai will play at the Wexner Center Plaza at 8pm, outside of the new museum.

The film showcases the gorgeous Elsa Bannister (Rita Hayworth) who lures seaman Mike O’Hara (Welles) into an intricate web of intrigue, betrayal, and murder. (The two were married but estranged during the filming.) The unforgettable finale in a funhouse hall of mirrors is an amazing demonstration of Charles Lawton, Jr.’s brilliant camerawork and Welles’s flamboyant direction. [Film synopsis from WexArts, org]

In the event of rain, the screening will move inside the center and start at 9 PM.
